About the Research

Cornerstone of Dr. Gyamfi-Bannerman's international research probes understanding of preterm birth prevention mechanisms and root causes. Studies assess epidemiologic data to discover evidence-backed state-of-art translational practices and identify prevalent risk factors to improve maternal and infant health long-term outcomes. Delivery of antenatal steroids to prevent neonatal respiratory complications is an integral focus. Goals are to investigate strategies for preventative maternal-fetal healthcare in chorus with reducing disparities and morbidity rates afflicted by racism and socioeconomic factors.
